Carson City Mint Morgan Dollars from the G.S.A. Hoard
On a recent coin shopping trip we were fortunate enough to find a small group of Carson City Mint Morgan dollars in their original General Services Administration (G.S.A.) boxes with the original paper inserts. You may remember the excitement of 30 or more years ago when the General Services Administration discovered original mint bags of Morgan dollars, mainly from the Carson City Mint! By the early 1970s, the coins were packaged in what have since become known as “GSA holders” and sold to the general public, first in categories defined by quality, and later more were sold in a lottery-like manner.

In the current red-hot numismatic marketplace, prices are definitely moving upward on coins in general, and especially so with these popular Carson City Morgan dollar G.S.A. hoard coins! Please check the list below and see if any of these historic Carson City Morgan dollars catches your attention. As noted above, we don’t have many of these, and we expect them to sell quickly. Why not call Melissa Karstedt now and order a piece of numismatic history in its original G.S.A. holder and box!
